The 99 Social™

Community Guidelines

The 99 is a small place. These are the rules that keep it worth showing up to. Break them and your content comes down; keep breaking them and your account goes with it.

No sexual content, and nothing involving minors — everThis is a 13+ app. Sexual content is not allowed. Anything sexualizing a minor is removed immediately, the account is banned, and it is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by law.
No harassment, threats, or hateDo not target people. No threats of violence, no slurs, no pile-ons, no content attacking someone for who they are. Disagreeing with your neighbors is fine; going after them is not.
No doxxingDo not post someone's address, phone number, workplace, school, or anything else that could be used to find them offline. This includes screenshots.
No spam or scamsNo bulk posting, engagement farming, fake giveaways, crypto pitches, or repeatedly pushing the same link. Local businesses are welcome — spamming is not.
Ghost Mode is for candor, not coverPosting anonymously does not change any of these rules. We can still identify and ban accounts that abuse Ghost Mode.
Post what is yoursDo not upload other people's photos, video, or writing as your own. If you own it or you made it, share it.
Keep it real, keep it localThe 99 is for the towns along Highway 99. Impersonating someone else, or inventing emergencies and alerts, breaks the thing that makes it useful.
If you are struggling, reach out — do not post the howContent that encourages, instructs, or glorifies suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating comes down. Talking about your own hard time is allowed and welcome; a method is not. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 — the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, free and 24/7. Reporting a post that worries you is not snitching. It is the right call, and we would rather you make it.
Nothing illegalNo buying, selling, or sourcing drugs, weapons, stolen goods, or counterfeits. No fraud, no scams, no phishing. Anything involving the sexual exploitation of a minor is removed, the account is banned permanently, and it is reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to law enforcement. There is no warning and no second chance on that one.

Reporting, and what we do about it

Tap ••• on any post, photo, or video to report it, or to block the person who posted it. Blocking is mutual and immediate — they cannot message you or see your posts, and you will not see theirs.

We review reported content and remove violating content and the accounts responsible within 24 hours of a report. Content involving the sexual exploitation of a minor is removed on sight and reported to NCMEC.
